Never seen that movie Matt. It must be very surreal to travel through the emptiness of the desert and come across them. You are a lucky man Kuno!

How succesful have you been in tracing the numbers and getting any of the vehicles history or finding out who they were attached to? Have you even tried to do that or not?

Imagine coming across that scene in the desert. Incredible. Reminds me of a film scene, not sure which one though...

Did you ever ask the restaurant owner where he got it from? When you find these hidden gems do you make a note of any details, like chassis numbers, unit markings etc?

Wouldnt pass an MOT with those on though would it? Or is it age exempt?

Desperately trying to get the Iltis roadworthy for the weekend at Johns for the road run.Had a strained afternoon getting the steering rack off the Iltis to replace the steering rod. Some welding required and replacing 2 of the top spring/hub mounts this week, hopefully all will be on track for this weekend. Any advice on replacing them gratefully received!

Hello Kuno, welcome aboard. What makes you so interested in the Desert Campaigns?

After fitting the Morris engine cover on we sprayed it with a new tin of OD eggshell from a supplier. It has come out completely matt finish. Which is odd as the last tin we used was a definite eggshell finish, but we painted that on by brush. Is it a dodgy tin of paint we have or is the finish different because we have thinned it with thinners and sprayed it??

Blimey! I go away for a few days and look what happens! We had a Saab v4 in our workshop the other week for a load of work, it only had about 20,000 miles on the clock. If I had of known your interest in banknotes Snapper you could have had loads which I found in my Grandfathers shed. He was a sailor in the early part of the century , I had banknotes from all over the world from very early ones. Didnt know what else to do with them so stuck them on evilbay.

Indeed it is a DAF. If only we had a Dutchman on here, he would have got it straightaway!

Well after being groomed into being into the RAF, went on to Art schooll, worked in HMV for a few years , really enjoyed that, have a big love for music and a really wide music taste thanks to that. Worked with children for a few years. It all got a bit ridiculous working with the kids, then helped the old man out at work for a week. That was 15 years ago been there ever since. I suppose the other hobbies are the family and making "everything work"! Discovered the world od MV's after one night wondering what you could buy off the internet and typedin "tanks for sale" . Its been uphill ever since!
