  1. Have you thought about sending the MC away to get it reconditioned?
  2. I was only thinking today a wall planner type of thing would be useful. I take it, that it goes into next year as well.
  3. I dont know if this works or not, but for those interested its the installation and mods for the Iltis to carry the TOW. C-30-138-000ME-001%20MAY%201988Page1_8.pdf
  4. Did try that Richard, they said they couldnt work from RAL numbers! Will try a bodyshop though.
  5. Afghanistan-recent. Would I be right in thinking the American Airborne also were using these as well as the Canadians?
  6. Found a PDF file of a diagram I was going to post on a thread, but I cant figure out how you can do it. It wont do it via photobucket thats for sure. Any ideas?
  7. Has anyone noticed the amount of Mungas on UK ebay at the moment? Is there a season for them, like grouse shooting?
  8. The rest of you can talk among yourselves... Just been speaking to Mike (mikemids) about some issues he has been having with the Morris. I thought i could answer them easy enough, but not, so referred to the manual. Book no. 101/ML5A. Only to find I havent printed out the necessary bits and I dont know where the disc is! Mike has only been getting about 6 miles to the gallon on his C8, I would have expected about 12mpg. That seems a little excessive, even for a Morris! Could it be a carb overhaul is needed? very expensive option. He said he had been running it without an air filter as it wouldnt start with it fitted. I would say this would be the cause of the excessive fuel consumption unless anyone has any other ideas. If so, why wont it start with the air filter on? Anyone else come across this? The little red light stays on, on his switch panel, why? Mine has never lit up in its life. Lastly 4 wheel drive operation. Correct me if Im wrong, but Ive not had chance to delve in this yet as mine only drives in and out of the workshop! C8 is permanent 4wd in 1st and reverse from what I recall. The lever near the gearstick is the knock out lever to take it out of 4wd? Can someone explain the operation of this? PS Mike needs a copy of the 101?ML5a manual if anyone can volunteer him a copy.:
  9. I notice the Iltis seems to have a gun holder in the middle so looking for a cheapish looking replica. My budget will stretch to £40, so if anyone knows where I can get a bargain like that, let me know. Thanks
  10. Thanks John, thats quite handy, but chuffing expensive way of doing it as they only seem to supply aerosol cans. At nearly £20 a shot that could work out a little expensive. I will ring up Frank Burberry see if he can help.
  11. Out of interest how much did it set you back Mark? Was it from a company or a private individual?
  12. Thanks for that Robert. So the question is, what is the closest colour I could get from someone like Frank Burberry, to get closest to the RAL colour I need?
  13. Tony, can you keep your eye open for any Morris C8 and brit jeep pics. Looking to mark up the vehicles, be good if I could mark up as a liberation vehicle.
  14. :beer:Congratulations! Please pick up your ticket to spend 15 minutes in Ye Olde Back Room with the dancing girls. Dont forget to take your toothbrush!:dancinggirls:
  15. The K6 is absolutely spotless, it looked like it had just come out of the factory. John has owned and restored 141 MV's by the way. He knows his stuff. There is talk about making this an annual event.
  16. The reason for asking these questions is twofold. When we sprayed up the engine cover on the Morris we used thinners with paint from Warpaint and didnt get a good finish. Im going to try it again but usng thinners. I take it that Frank Burberrys apints must be of similar make up to WP's and they look like thinners is the way to go there. Secondly, the Iltis is going to get a makeover and the canvas needs to be included in that. The paint code for the bronze-green is RAL6014 with "splodges" of black and a small amount of brown. Is RAL 6014 a common number used by NATO? If so, is it the same as Matt NATO green?
  17. Where are they based Lee, and will they do orders over the phone? Does that apply to canvas paint as well?
  18. Couple of paint questions. Does anyone supply aerosol military paint? Im after a couple of aerosol tins of earth colour, I dont need a big 5 litre tub of it and only need a small amount to spray on. Where can I get paint for a canvas from, I only need a small amount, but again, earth, green and black. Anyone ever used frank Burberry paints or Vintage paints, if so, what are they like? Thanks
  19. It wont last, they will put the price up on something else to compensate. Call me a cynic.
  20. I hope thats not the same book Kuno is working on!
  21. Hello Nigel and welcome aboard. Please see Great War Truck (Tim) in helping build you some stables out the back by the sand pit where Kuno plays!
  22. Open the pub! Youve got other toys to play with, and from what I can tell theres plenty of MVs turning up in Oz.
