  1. Can I use my OD15 eggshell from Warpaint on my engine block, or is it not heat resistant enough. Am I better off sticking to original plan of using Hammerite?
  2. Good thinking, thanks Mick, Ive seen their vans around here,
  3. Thats the one! Question answered. Thanks. How is yours doing?
  4. Lonely hearts section....interesting  Like the idea of a vehicles for hire idea, scrapyard rescue, stories, can there be any more....?? 8-)
  5. Im sure the Castrol stuff has that LM3 designation on it.
  6. Again a plea from help as the old girl is rattling along at a pace. ( No not running just getting put back together) I need to know where I can get a couple of banjo unions which fit into the end of the float chamber on the carb. Any ideas please. :?
  7. Thanks Bodge the one on that website seems to be made of GRP from the description, the Kooblekars one is made of steel, which leads me to think there are two companys. Im thinking the GRP one would be cheaper, though not as nice as steel. Do Kooblekars export to UK. Any more info gratefully received 8-)
  8. I would have thought you would have been OK with water pump grease for cars. Not white though, more orange, but very thick stuff.
  9. Scrapyard rescues. If anyone sees something in a shed, scrappy or a field, and cant afford to rescue/salvage it, let someone else know so they can! 8-)
  10. Dum, dum, dum...another one bites the dust....dum, dum, dum...etc,etc :-D
  11. Thanks John and Rolf. I was thinking plumbing tubing as well. As for the hosing, no motor factors do it around here, hence I was thinking getting the long lengths in as they werent too expensive. Do you know what condition yours are in Rolf? There is a right angled piece of hosing that may be difficult as it is such a tight bend, did you have any problems with that John?
  12. Apparently theres one lurking on a scrapyard near me somewhere, I need to go and have a look....when time permits :-(
  13. While I have your attention.....any ideas where I might be able to get the water hoses from? I can get radiator hose from one of our suppliers, but they only supply in 1 metre lengths which seems a bit overkill for what is fitted. Good old Morris seemed to use a different size hose for each part and only 3- 4 inches of it! While Im at it, a couple of my metal water pipes have more holes than a golf course, again , any ideas gratefully received.
  14. I know the bloke, I got a head gasket from him, but he is charging £25 per gasket now as he hasnt many left. the reason I ask is that someone is selling 4 of them on Ebay, but it hasnt any bids, they are on at £20 for 4, but they are for the 1949-> Morris. Shame, I thought I had spotted a bargain.....oh well 8-)
  15. Thanks Rolf, I thought the part number would begin with LV as a prefix?
  16. As the title suggests Im looking for the original part number for the 1944 Morris Commercial. Thanks
  17. I would have thought plain, correct me if Im wrong but I thought they were only painted in camo post Normandy Landings, do a pic search on google and have a look.
  18. Theres no substitute for the stuff you can get from Frosts surely, its blooming marvellous, Ive done all mine with it. Just spray the stuff on and keep it wet over half an hour, leave to dry, its easy and effective. Expensive tho, but you can reuse it.
  19. Stop SHOUTING!It hurts my eyes.... ;-)
  20. Being an archaeologist and a believer in the use of metal detectors- I have 2, I could advise you! First you need to decide on how much you want to spend on the machine. Ive got a lightweight good one that cost me about £200ish a couple of years ago, and an all dancing and singing one which cost £1200ish. I dont get much time to play with them having a family and a business to run but the rewards are great. Not in a monetary sense though, but finding a little piece of history someone has lost. Its an obssesive hobby, bit like MVs! Go out and get a copy of one or both magazines- The Searcher and Treasure Hunter, have a look at them and look at the sort of prices you can afford, Im guessing a reasonable one will cost you at least £300ish. Stay in touch! 8-)
  21. Maybe you should ask Jack what its like to be the "Supreme Being"!!
  22. Hello to you both! i am trying to get my 1 year old daughter and my missus to take an interest....they will be......its a matter of time.... :afro:
  23. Thats what I was afraid of.Many thanks for that, i dont want to get too involved with the gearbox! ;-)
