  1. John, Please take note and bow to my superiority. :police: I put my rank down to the superb use of wasting hours away at work when Im sure I should be doing something more to grease the wheels of industry!! How could my time be better spent...oh yes....derusting odd bits of metal with a wire brush..... :help:
  2. Its starts as a simple look, then before you know it, your hobby is snowballing and your bank balance is screaming for mercy. Welcome :-D
  3. Can any of you Morris owners advise me on the taking off of the transfer box. It would make cleaning around that area a helluva lot easier. The various manuals I have tell you how to split the box, but I dont want to do that, as I can see me ending up with a pile of cogs on the floor. What I want to be able to do is find out which bolts attach it to the gearbox, ( I can only seem to positively identify one bolt so far which goes through both), and take off the transfer box as a whole with the propssliding out each side of the box, is this possible? If so can you give me any hints on how etc? Cheers guys :? :dunno:
  4. If the poor old soul regains his memory can you give me a shout. I take it they are all based on Beetle so you need a decent chassis and engine to start with?
  5. Going through the process of moving house. Im sure estate agents are specially bred people designed to make your life a living stressfull nightmare! On a plus note the new house has a big garage/workshop and a manshed! All wired up! On another plus note we had a work experience lad in for a couple of days this week, and his days were spent very productively painting the Morris chassis, he actually did a fair job, so next week is a lesson in degreasing the underside of the gearbox! ;-)
  6. Cheers guys has anyone a pic of this white patch, I wouldnt have thought Brit vehicles would ve had a completely white diff, but I could be wrong :-)
  7. A quick question on the back axle convoy light. On my 1944 Morris it has a convoy light on the rear chassis underneath to shine on the back axle. Would the back axle have been painted a different colour to reflect the light or just the standard OD15?
  8. I have always wondered if any company done a replica body/kit to put on a Beetle running gear to transorm it into a Kubel/Schwimmwagen. Anyone know of such a company? 8-)
  9. Just get your list sorted Rolf! Thats 3 radiators you have there as well! Im gobsmacked....(Ancient British term meaning mildly surprised!) :-D
  10. For those interested what is/used to be or might be in your area as in Army Camps. English Heritage has this website so you can access the data. Its the Archaeology data Service. You dont even need to wear an anorak to see it (but it helps). :police: http://ads.ahds.ac.uk/catalogue/archive/armycamp_eh_2006/
  11. We have a road leading into our small town that is like a patchwork quilt when it comes to road repairs. Apparently its that bad because they kept tanks along that bit of road waiting to get shipped down to the south. I point out that we used to have a major rail works, workshops here. (The Royal train is kept here!) . The main walls of the rail works still retained their camouflage until a few years ago but it has mostly weathered away now. Wolverton, in North Bucks if anyone is interested. :-)
  12. Apparently paraffin is pretty good, just let it sit in the bores.
  13. Tony, if that was 10th to the 21st Feb, has it already finished?
  14. I just came across another website for MV's and they have a section for members to post videos. Any chance of the webmaster and/or Jack considering this? Its not like they have anything better to do!
  15. Might have to take you up on that ride Jack! Been looking on ebay for a sit on lawnmower that I can paint Olive Drab. So as long as it doesnt clash with any of my employees having time off and family etc, count me in. The sooner a date is fixed the better for me! :-D
  16. May be a bit ambitious for me to get my sandblasted chassis up and running! Unless I get a landy for the short term....hmmmmmm  Deffo interested tho!
  17. I would say definitely armoured vehicle maybe even tank. Are there any markings or labels on them? How big are they? Did they come with the MCC bits? And finally......do you have a Paypal account Rolf?
  18. Ive no idea on those filters, they look huge. As a side note for all you MCC owners, in case you havent seen it there is a 25 pounder limber for sale on Milweb, that would look the part behind your MV! 8-)
  19. Rolf, emailed you a list, let me know if you didnt receive it. Cheers
