  1. Thanks for the photos, were you there then?
  2. Hi Oily How is owning a saracen? I have a ferret but am seriously thinking of buying a certain saracen acv. Can't be much more to take on than a ferret surely? Cheers Paul
  3. Good luck with the gearbox, I thought the brake pipes were bad enough. I know you said pm me, but, seeing as there is a bit of a free for all on this thread, can I ask about 00CA40? Thanks Paul
  4. A local around here fixed cars for a living out of a couple of these, paid £500 each and they lasted a long time. Just make sure you fix it down well or it maybe more portable than you bargained for!!
  5. wasn't that profiled in CMV a few months ago?
  6. I've recorded that, will have a look. Do they look like giant daffodils in this version?
  7. thanks for the suggestions, nothing VERY practical, basicaly I'm screwed I'm thinking
  8. Hi All Well, next year I'm determined to spend more time with the family and MVs. So, an MV camper conversion sounds like a good idea, just pack the family in on friday night and go somewhere for the weekend, easy. But, this year the family went from 3 to 5 individuals with the birth of twins. I love the military trucks, mjs, dafs etc and there are some really nice radio bodies that can be mounted on them which is fine when you are stopped at your destination. However, where do they all sit in transit? Is there a truck out there that sits 5 in the cab? Any suggestions please or am I stuffed? Cheers Paul
  9. Its apparently called a jubycell, the website is hydrogenhybrids.uk.com. I put that up for info and discussion purposes only, like I've said before I'm waiting to see the results with my own eyes. Interesting subject though
  10. Why arn't there little trays under the side flaps on a ferret to catch all the little pieces of finger?
  11. Well, my knowledge is a bit shaky on this but, it was first discovered in the 70's I think that a combustion engine runs more efficiently with hydrogen added to fossil fuels. This fuel cell is in the air intake and increases the hydrogen level fed into the engine by converting H2O Perhaps I'll find out the website or no. for these people, like I say, I'm waiting to see how it works out and I'm not acting as an advocate just yet.

  13. A friend of mine has recently had a hydrogen cell installed on the air intake of his engine and he is starting to get real improvements in mileage already, he's hoping for 25% extra. I'm sitting back and watching this one for a while to see how it all goes. Better to learn from the mistakes of others. Still, could be very interesting. Cheers Paul
  14. There is a ferret on for auction at Withams at the moment, if you want a project it might be the one for you. Paul
  15. £4,000 seems fairly low, the wreck at withams made what, late £2,000's and there were lots of bits missing, engine covers, bins flattened, lids missing etc, don't know what the engine and trans were like though. Paul
  16. Hi Paul Welcome to the forum, there are lots of ferreteers here with alot of knowledge and experience, so this is a good place to ask questions. Take a look at the mark 1/2, it has to be the gentleman's ferret, there is lid for bad weather but still lots of room to give rides to the adoring public/ladies/whatever you're into. Cheers Paul
  17. I have to say I'm quite happy with the CMV, although I'm still a bit "green on the scene", so most things are new to me, never did see W&T. I'm glad they have started showing photos of the insides of vehicles now too, just as interesting as the exterior I always think. Always been a big fan of GAZ 69's too. Paul
  18. The auction ended at £4,000, I have a feeling that the reserve wasn't met as it had already been relisted once. I was sorely tempted too at that price, perhaps a bit too good to be true though. Paul
  19. Thats the trouble Chris, I could pick a good ferret, I know ferrets, these fv439's seem to run on track things and where do you put the petrol in one of these K60 diesels engines? The auction of one ends today, but I'm not buying blind from Withams, bit too far out on a limb I think. Still, didn't know there were that many of them, withams say there are 4 available, why can't they just be up front? Paul
  20. Hi All Has anyone viewed these 439's at withams, they look up together on the photos and description is good, but, photos and descriptions can be and often are misleading. Its along way to Withams from Devon if they are a disappointment. Cheers Paul
  21. That rise in price makes it a good investment then? Apart from the VOSA stuff but they get us all eventually.
  22. I was wondering what will be sold in large numbers next. In the past there has been clear outs of abbots, ferrets, saracens, stollys, fv 432's, cvrts, etc etc and most recently green goddesses. All of the above are now disposed of and in the hands of owners, or scrapped, but whats coming along now? Saxons perhaps? Paul
  23. That sounds easy, but, in the withams description it says with the right license and modifications if could be made road legal. I assumed they meant lights, track rubbers or mirrors etc etc
  24. sounds like this needs to be researched, the only reasonable thing to do is buy a MTLB and a BMP-1 and test the point. Good luck.
