  1. Still looking for something folks- ideally for after this year's rally season, but as said as above- would happily start renting now if the right spot came up. No idea what I'll end up with, but it'll probably be on the large side:drive: Looks like I'll probably have to resort to knocking on doors and smiling nicely at people, but I thought I'd try again just in case :-D
  2. A picture I found while browsing Flickr the other day, which offers an explanation as to why the nose isn't quite the same now as it was when "new"-
  3. Have been following progress on the yahoo group- but it's nice to see some piccies, she does look good for a wash :-D
  4. I'm looking into the possibility of acquiring something a bit different as a camping outfit for this Summer for when we're out and about with Adrian's DT and Ed's Unipower. Not sure what exactly it will be, but either a classic lorry or bus convertion is one option, or something like a K9, Q4 or Green Goddess with a classic caravan. First big hurdle is storage. Needs to be somewhere relatively secure yet where I can get at it! Would need to be able to do routine maintenance on it, but power etc isn't essential. Not looking at getting a vehicle 'till Summer but if the right spot comes up I'd happily start renting tomorrow. Indoor or outdoor- I can buy a nice big tarp! Ideally as close as possible to Stonehouse. Cheers, Matt
  5. Looks alright, I suppose... :-D Edging ever closer, roll on long summer evenings. Looking forwards to the first pub outing :-D
  6. I was most impressed with the way the wagon driver pushed it up onto the tilt n' slide :-D
  7. No, but IIRC the starting bid was £12.5k so if it did sell, it wasn't cheap. Is it definitely a genuine Wynns one?
  8. I agree with what Ed says above- Fordson Major (or similar sized Nuffield- bit of personal bias there!). A friend owned and restored a Major and helped cover some of the costs by topping the occasional paddock etc. Did the job no trouble at all- this on a £2k tractor, not a £5k one with lots more to go wrong. Before the Major he had a Fergie TE20 with a Perkins P3 which was also a very capable machine for it's size, but the Major would do a lot more. The money saved over a modern compact tractor would get you a trailer, a decent topper, a link box and plenty of diesel- and it won't lose money either if you look after it. And you can take it to steam rallies :nut: Have also heard good things about Patrick Edwards- nice chap with a very nice Showman's engine!
  9. Might be worth dropping Adrian a message, I know he spent a fair amount of time making sure the colour of his Diamond T is right, although of course "right" is a very subjective thing! He's away with work this week I believe, but may get back to you.
  10. The Henley one still looks very nice- glad it's to be sorted. Didn't realise Moss had one Dick- will have to go find it! They had a couple of Land Rovers at GDSF.
  11. That solves a puzzle from GDSF then! I did wonder if the FWD badge was a decoy...
  12. The sight and sound of 6 T's on the BIG trailer was quite something! Enjoyed watching them "at play" as well- thanks for putting on the show folks!
  13. I really like that- the new back body is very neat. Doesn't restrict the suspension travel either!
  14. Frankly, if I was showing a vehicle and had an out of date tax disc in the window I'd be grateful for a member of public for pointing out to me that I'd forgotten to change it for the new one, before Plod fines us for not doing so... Can't see the point of fake "old" tax discs anyway, it's a small circle in the corner of the window. Can only understand it if it's a real one from the vehicle's past. I wouldn't care enough to report, unless it was clearly dodgy (e.g. a ringer) at a show, but would if I saw a vehicle on the road. If you can't be bothered to tax it then I suspect you may not be bothered about insurance either, and given that us honest folk pay through the nose for the privelidge of being legal I'm not too happy about that.
  15. S'alright, show doesn't start 'till the Wednesday- we can finish her down there :-D Really looking forwards to this (I'm in diesel light haulage, aka Land Rover, but will be annoying the Heavy Haulage boys for most of it). Fingers crossed we get Adrian's T in a roadworthy and showable state- few busy weekend ahead I think...
  16. Aye oop Nigel- I'm Matt (Ed's causer of chaos in training) by the way! Hopefully you find what you are looking for soon.
  17. Welcome! Few of us from round these parts, I'm from Wotton and know of a handful of MV's around Stonehouse.
  18. Bit like people calling the S3 in your avatar a Defender really :nut: They are actually very different shapes (far more different than a Defender and a S3 in fact- but the different radiators is the most obvious bit in both cases!).
  19. That is absolutely fantastic- glad it's going to be restored to Fairground condition, it'll be a showstopper when it's done
  20. Despite turning up unfashionably late and missing most the fun it was a pleasure to be there and watch her come together. The cab is a work of art and the whole thing looks fantastic (especially when viewed from the right :-D), 'tis a credit to Adrian.
  21. Definitely- it's an unusual piece of history. I've not seen one with that type of cab before!
