  1. I started with a M38 (MC) jeep, still like Jeeps. I went for the WC 21 to be different than the rest like you did with the colour on your Jeep. After the M38 I bought a WC 21 ( a WW2 Jeep was too expensive). I wanted to sell it for a WW2 jeep but the prices were too high (still). When looking for a Jeep I could buy the WC 21, MOT-ed but rusty for far less than a Jeep. So bought it restored it and drive. Now I'd like to sell the WC 21 and buy a Command Caqr for practicle resons.
  2. Its a mirror on wheels! To check the underside of a vehicle for bombs you could get on all four. OR, you roll the wheeled bit with a mirror onder the vehicle to see what's there. Sometimes you see on TV a small hadheld version when checking a VIP limo or such.
  3. Concerting a Hotchkiss to a WW2 vehicle is up to the person. But its a bit of fooling yourself since it wasn't a WW2 vehicle. If a WW2 jeep was totally unobtainable I can understand the compromise. BTW is there much difference in price; WW2 jeep versus Hotchkiss in the UK?
  4. Congratulations to both of you!!!! Enjoy your honeymoon mate.
  5. Sounds like someones girlfiend

  9. About WW2 vehicles actually USED on the battlefields, you're right. My WC 21 came to Europe in 1947 or 1949. It was delivered May 1942 so most probably stayed in the US and never used in the Pacific or Europe or Africa during the war. Unfortunately all markings were removed so I can't trace its history before shipment to Europe (Switserland) in the late 40's.

What can I say.? BORAT for President!
  11. For most Dutchman ww2 vehicles are more popular because they were used to liberate us in a war we didn't choose to be in. Since WW2 we had a war in Indonesia and participated in Korea. Many vehicles were still WW2 vintage so the post war ones haven't got much war history to them.
  12. Yep, that sums it up pretty good...
  13. That could be serious, hope you didn't do too much damage to the bonnet
  14. The plierthings might do the job. Do be careful though, if you slip you may hurt yourself. Before you apply force on pliers, spanners or whatever look where you're going to end up when you slip and put something soft to avoid a lot of pain and :argh:
  15. Are you sure its a Land Rover? I thought it was a Champ

Here a few of the soldiers who fought in Den Bosch. We know them personally because we attend the commemorations with them. We even accompany them to the Cemetary to pay respect to the fallen. Mr. Davies Welch Regiment. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a264/T214/EmrysDaviesMedium.jpg[/img] Mr. Atkinson I call him and his wife granddad and grandma. In the book about the Battle of Den Bosch we found a photo (oct 1944) where we recognised Mr. Atkinson, he hasn't changed much!
