  1. You may remember my topic about my 6 volt WC 21. The starter turned veeeery slowly, about 1 turn per pressing of the button. :banghead: After checking leads and stuff some thought it may be the startermotor itself. So I bought a NOS one. What a %$#@$#% to get the old one out!! removing oilfilter and tubes, horn, floorboards and more I got the old one out and put the new one in. Remember, no garage so working outside, luckily its warm about 15-17 degrees centigrade. Well, first tested the horn....nothing (sorting that out later). Then sirene...OK. And finally the starter. EUREKA, turnes like crazy. I've done it!!!!    Thanks guys for all your help!!! No more handcranking.........
  2. I got to go in the arena in a Sherman named "Zemsta". Great fun. Show us a pic of your vehicles...
  3. It still says my password isn't correct?
  4. Seen the movie in the cinema. Also seen the replica at Beltring, nice! Do you visit Beltring yourself? [attachment deleted by admin]
  5. Take a look. Maybe what you're looking for is here on ebay? http://collectibles.search.ebay.com/royal-navy-uniform_Militaria_W0QQcatrefZC6QQcoactionZcompareQQcoentrypageZsearchQQcopagenumZ1QQfclZ3QQfgtpZQQfposZQ5AIPQ2fPostalQQfromZR2QQfsooZ2QQfsopZ2QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQlopgZQQsacatZ13956QQsadisZ200QQsaprchiZQQsaprcloZQQsargnZQ2d1QQsaslcZ2QQsbrftogZ1QQsofocusZbs
  6. Jacks photo looks to be taken with a wideanglelens, 28 or 35 MM. The photographer probably sat down or at least took a low vantagepoint and I think used a polaroidfilter.
  7. I think its just the same as the WW2 white star, for recognition.
  8. You must have had a blast!!!
  9. Would be nice to see MV evolution like that. Lots has changed and sometimes not much att all.
  10. Don't know, never eaten a vegan.... :naughty:
  11. I am supposed to do a 10 KM march with the VMD, haven't heard much from them though. Good luck mate.
  12. Hi Chris I bet in her mind she was sitting next to you driving offroad like mad....good on you for keeping your promise! During the commemorations in Den Bosch last October I made a Welsh veteran happy. We had spoken a year earlier about Recce badges (he was a Recce). He couldn't get a original one. I had forgotten (my memory is shot). This year he reminded me and I promissed him a original one. He had a replica loaned form someone else. So I brought the badge which I wear daily on a black beret and gave it to him. He was very pleased. When another veteran asked how much he had paid I just said it was a gift. I got a new one through Ebay.
  13. Ha ha, sick minds think alike; I also wonder about vegan's  :naughty: I LOVE animals......,they taste great!
  14. Is the ignition dry? Moisture can be a pain. My brothers M201 ran a little rough in the summer. Replaced the spark plugs by the CORRECT ones and now seems to be OK. Are the plug leads OK? Condensator? Succes. For MOT that's not a problem is it?
  15. had my Dodge on Milweb. Got a reply from 1 of those sammers. No Q's about the vehicle, language like someone who wants to buy a Rolls and offcourse the cheque thing...
  16. I think I've seen and heard it! Visible from the W&P grounds? Lots of smoke and sounding like a crashing B-17... Ah well, was a great performance art kinda thing.......
  17. Hi Berni Looks like nice toys. Like to play around with some of them...
  18. So now your pushing your luck mate. You'll never hear the end of it if you do, especially in a parade.....
  19. ArtistRifles I can imagine you don't want to wear a uniform. Here in Holland for WW2 parades a uniform is desired. Those who don't want that are asked to wear green or khaki. So a red sweater isn't very wellcome. Maybe dark clothing would be OK for you? Just my 2 cents. My passion is WW2 but I don't look down on post war vehicles. Some of them are rarer and more expensive (or more good looking) than WW2 stuff. There is 1 vehicle I really don't like (won't mention it here). BUT, if someone has 1 of those I give him due respect cause HE or SHE likes it.
  20. Been there for a 1 day visit in 2000 ( my mate wanted to go home after 1 day, arrived back at 07:00 hours!). So much to see. I was very impressed by the devastation at Point Du Hoc. Also met a US veteran in a museum standing by a Dodge with tears in his eyes. I approached him and said I drove 1 of those. His sad mood cleared and he got his family around him to tell them about me and the fact I had a WW2 Dodge. I was glad to make the man smile again...
  21. I agree about the wind although I haven't got hair anymore, just to have very looong hair though. Especially nice to drive in the winter without a top with people looking like we're the ones who are nuts!
  22. Hmmmm, you win some and loose it....pity.
  23. paint can be a problem. On my Dodge I mixed some browin in it but its a little too glossy. Howeven after a while it got more matt. Looking forward to the endresult of all your work. Keep up the good work.
  24. Years ago a friend and me went on a holiday to the Ardennes in my M38. The first camping was "full" :? , well a green Jeep and a longhaired driver wasn't very wellcome I think. So we drove the Jeep in the woods and slept onder a tarpaulinn next to the Jeep. Somewhere on the way beck near Eupen we wanted to go in the woods again via a trail. Not allowed. To block it a little was of earth was laid there. :-) Ah, no problem we thought we have 4X4 and drove on it. OH OH, it was very soft ground, we went over it and sank on to it with all wheels on either side with the belly stuck in the soft wall. OOPS. So we took the Jack, damn , we drove it into the soft ground. Lifting? No good. Wood onder the wheels, nope. That meant digging it free from left to right. Offcourse we got spotted by a forestwarden :nono:, well actually 2 independent of each other - crap.... In my best French (which isn't very good) I managed to tell him somebody said to go there and left. Guess the guys thought the trouble we had was punishment enough. OK, so were digging and its getting dark (like our mood). In the twilight we were being annoyed by little flies which OFFCOURSE later turned out to be mosquito type things :argh:. Later we looked like we had Measels or small pocks, especially my friend had a long time of itching from it. In the end we got free and drove to find another sleeping place not saying 1 word to each other. LATER we could laugh at it.
  25. I agree with open cabs. I like them better than the closed ones. We drive open all year long, only use the top when it rains. Lot of work ahead of you, succes. replacing the cab shouldn't be very difficult.
