  6. When i first registerd Sparky, I went to the office in Portsmouth expecting this to be the first of a few trips, i was supprised when after looking at the restoration pictures and checking the chassis number they said "thats fine, here is a 1941 registration goodby":D, i guess this unusual but they actually had somone who did all the vintage vehicles, but this was 9 years ago. Alan.
  7. Hi all. here are some pictures of most of the military vehicles that were at the show this weekend. Enjoy.:-) PS sorry they are a bit fuzzy.(actually they are cr@p, but i cant take the worst ones off) Alan.

  11. Hi Joel, i assume you meen the wheel rim?, i am not sure of the size, but i am sure there is someone on the forum that will put the size up for you. Alan.
  12. Hi Joel, welcome to the forum, there are quite a few pioneer threads on here, but you may like to look at my restoration, there are some views of the inside of the frames that may be usefull. http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?16311-SPARKY-lives-again. Regards. Alan.
  13. Welcome in. Keep working with the tin rot and woodworm, it will be worth it when you finaly get to push that little button with "START" on it,:cool2: Alan.
  14. Sounds about right to me, having done just over 3000 miles since restoration, the gearbox does sing in 5th and 6th at some speeds. As for the steering you just point in the general direction you want to go and hope for the best.:cool2: It does tend to follow the camber of the road so you need a nice flat bit to light your cig.:trustme: PS nice vidios. Hope this helps. Alan.
  15. Good idea, but what have they got against pioneer suspension, mine is #@*&%£, OUCH!! MY BACK!!!!:-D Alan.
  16. Thanks for the pictures, and thanks for the tour of your truck, it was good to meet a fellow HMVFer?. When you took the pics of the sentinell we wre doing "engineering" on the valve gaps, these old trucks are a bit fussy at the best of times:blush: and things need tweeking quite often. I had a good run back home with Sparky, doing the 40 miles in about 2.5 houres, give or take. Alan.
  17. Looks like you had a good time, nice pictures, thanks for posting. Alan.

  19. It will be good to see you, come and have a cuppa, or something stronger:-D, the navy usually has the kettle on. Regards. Alan.
  20. Hi all, just bringing this back to the front page, there will be a good turn out of vehicles at this show, and there is a large playpen to vent some gas in, (from exhausts, or smoke stacks), hope to see you there. Regards. Alan.:trustme:
  21. Here are a couple of pictures of my first run out, to Burseldon Brickworks.
  22. I got my camara from Towsure in Southampton, £99,99, but the conection between camera and screen is wireless, has enough range to get a very clear picture from one end of a pioneer to the other with no problems. Alan.
