  3. Hi all, I thought i would tell you a short story. Back in the summer, we, that is Sparky and Sultan, (Sultan is a sentinell steam waggon) made the anual trip to the Isle Of White, from where we would go on to Dorset. This year however Sultan was feeling a bit ill, on the trip from Haven St to catch the ferry "she" decided to break down. This was a pain in the bum as we had a ferry to catch. After half an hour of burning fingers and sore knees we decided to take the drive chains off and give Sparky some work to do. So there was scammell then sentinell then living van, on the shunt pole, total weight around 25 tons, this may not sound alot to some, but have you seen the hills on the IOW!!! Anyway we got to the ferry port ok, the the man came over with his measuring wheel and then anounced "27 meters, you will have to get the next ferry as there aint a space that long on this one" oh well, only half an hour to go. ( There is a reason to this story ) We made it to dorset, but one thing was clear, Sparkys radiator was not doing what it should, so through the winter it has been dismantled and cleaned out. Having seen the muck inside it is amazing we only had to stop twice to let things cool down. here are e few pics of the rad going back on. PS also fitted a new exhaust manifold.

  7. Hi, i have been going for a number of years with 3 or 4 in the cab, i have never been asked for more money, i think it may be to stop people turning up with a truck full, but then we spend money in their cafe, so the more the better as far as i am concerned.
