  1. Hi All, First of all a very big thank you to all the military vehicle owner's,re-enactors,stall holder's, piro team's & all the helper's that turned up on the day/day's to help.Lastly to all the staff at Ponderosa who have worked tirelessly.Probably due to the heavy rain on friday, the vehicle number's were well down with the amount that were booked in 214.We were well up on last year's figures with 127 on both day's.Stormin i believe you answered your own question there :-D But as one vehicle owner said to me, it's not the quantity it's the quality. We defo had quality with 36 British ww2 vehicles inc anti tank guns & heavy artillery.A rare D2 cat dozer,US6 studebaker truck & two Russian PT76 tanks on their first outing's.A good number of ww2 armour inc a M24 Chaffee, two M18 Hellcats, German Marder tank (not a 432 copy) four halftracks inc a very rare complete M14 halftrack, two daimler dingos. It's always good to see a saladin armoured car displayed with two very well restored ferrets. The highlight's for me was seeing my good friend Simon's AEC militant pulling the other 5.5" howitzer & Ken & Adam driving the cat D2 around the arena with Adam being applauded by all the armoured guy's.The ww2 armour driving & firing display around the arena, at both slow & high speeds was fantastic.Lastly the main re-enactment battle on the Sunday was outstanding, with three 25lb pounders & four ww2 tanks firing & driving along with three halftracks & a dingo. With Ken & Adam driving their halftracks straight through one of the mock houses. We had a very good crowd turn out on both the days.Where already planning next year's July show with the promise of alot more ww2 armour so watch this space.Lastly i'd just like to personaly thank Eddy AKA Rick, who was desperate to attend the show & desperatley tried in vain to attend with his Bren carrier.Even to the point of asking me to ask any of the owner's with heavy transporters at the show if they'ed pick it up for a good fee CHEER'S MATE. stu

  16. Hi all, Again another update just to keep you all up to speed,we had 202 vehicles booked in with unusally alot of wartime armour well especially in the North of England. The full scale stone built bridge has now been completed, and superb it looks to.We've now started erecting, what will become a full scale mock Normandy village kindly donated to us.These old prop set's which look great with full interiors inc stair's.This may well be the biggest reactation of a mock Normandy village ever built, once the houses are sorted all the foxholes gun & mortor pitt's will be dug. This year all the groups will be permanently on the battlefield unlike most other shows with full living history. The 25bs along with several armoured vehicles will be firing and taking part in the battle. So why not be part of the biggest reactment battle ever held in the North.Contact details are all on our website www.ponderosa-warweekend.co.uk 9 & 10th of July just off the M62 motorway cheer's stu
  17. Hi All, First of all thank's chris, i still need the correct measurements for the smaller of the two rear boxes. Well my M16 halftrack finally arrived on tues afternoon, much to the annoyance of the gaffer AKA r lass.As i'd only walked threw the door unpacked the suitcases from our hol's abroad, when the phone rang from the lowloader com stating "your halftrack is loaded and on it's way to you". So she's not a happy bunny oh well no pain no game:D.The halftrack is very complete as far as the back is concered with all the brackets ie grenade boxes, thombstone rackes, radio table, floor lockers etc etc.Unfortunatley all the date plates are missing,so if anyone has any original's i'd be very interested.Iv'e tried to upload some pics with no joy so far,so if anyone can help with this.My next goal is too get her running & restore the outside only just for the Ponderosa show.Iv'e now got six haltracks booked in inc mine.Five weeks only no pressure then.A special thanks must go to Ken & Brian who helped with the unloading and helpful advice and know i'm not going to camp next to it.Well not unless my partner kick's me out. Question why is it when your in, your under there feet & when your out they miss you & state "You never spend enough time with me" :nut:?? cheer's Stu
