  1. Also have a limited supply of the special cable adjusters, and the little spring clips for the centre stand, often missing, all NOS, but a bit shop soiled. 20 pounds for the 3 bits, postage extra. Cheers, Lex PS, I am not sure if the bottom cable adjuster is Flea at all?? mine has a much smaller one fitten on the clutch arm.
  2. Yes, you have a good start Sam, I don't have the throttle parts anymore, long ago sold out, maybe the part that clamps onto the round tube, but have to look. High resolution scans of the parts book I can send by "We Transfer" don't know if I have the maintenance manual scanned, but do have some very nice copies of the riders handbook left, can take to the coming Malvern miltary jumble. See pictures., cheers, Lex
  3. Here's how I found mine, in the US, with a story that an 8th airforce veteran stole it from an airfield in the UK after his last mission, and took it on his bomber home to the US, where he used it briefly after the war, painted red, then it sat in his damp cellar for a long time, the rims were rusted through by the time I got it! And here finished, in one of the most used pictures on the web! (no that's not me holding it!) Have many more detail pictures, and information.
  4. It is possible to make one yourself, a lot of work, but did it years ago, when nothing was available, the cast in numbers are not there offcourse, but using a postwar kickstarter for the splined bit will be neccesery, see pictures. The bit where the stop sits in the casting is the hardest, when not having a milling machine, did it by oldfashioned filing! the rest is just filling it with weld, and grinding, helps when you have an original handy! Lex
  5. Yes, I have inspected them, luckily there are differences! But think Sam wants an original, but parts are impossible, and an original complete one, well, once in 10 years I'd say.... Cheers, Lex
  6. Well Sam, Not really, unless you have some real good swaps, have been offered loads of money, but that will be gone in a day! Cheers, Lex
  7. Where did the bike come from?? Lex
  8. Yes, but it's not a typical British rear light?? Lex
  9. Hi there, here a picture of what you're looking for. Cheers, Lex
  10. Have never seen that type of Lucas taillamp, do have one in the collection that is flat like this one, but has normal round holes. Wartime Fleas never had a numberplate or numberplate holder, and like Ron has his, is exactly like mine, and mentioned in the parts lists. (scan at bottom) After the war a registration plate was needed, and so all sorts of things were added. Cheers, Lex
  11. Hi all, Have about 10 down under in my registry, but have a load of documents from the AWM to still sort out, Most came from contract C7576 as pictures and the archives indicate. And only have one in my register in NZ, and that is an incomplete one owned by Mr. Mackintosh, of Manx Norton fame, but he told me some years ago there was another one, never got any details though. Please let me know if anything else turns up! I have loads of pictures and info on the Big 4's, and ride them regularly, on and offroad. Cheers, Lex
  12. Hi all, Here some pictures I recently aquired, has any of them anything to do with WW1? Cheers, Lex
  13. Yes, Ron is right about that!! Here the Lucas floodlight: Cheers, Lex
  14. Hello David, The lucas Axle floodlamp is near impossible to find, only ever saw a couple, also used on Loyd carriers and Norton Big 4's I did find one after years of searching, but it was not easy!!! Much more common are the Butler axle floodlights, you see them around, Dirk Leegwater in Holland might still have some NOS ones. The taillamp I have no pictures off, can you post some please? Hope this helps, Lex Schmidt
  15. Thanks Jim! But this is the only picture from the front, can you date it by that? Pictures and drawings of wheels show wooden spokes, so must be prewar then? (well pre US WW1) Cheers, Lex As said before it can be f/s. or traded for motorcycle stuff, WW1 or WW2
  16. OK Thanks Bob!! makes sense! Years and years ago I could have bought (in France) a complete rear ammo box, in the original camouflage colors, not too much money, still regret it to this day! that's why I picked up the manual probably! Cheers, Lex
  17. Hi guys, Just got this in, is it just after WW1? doesn't mention anything military, brochure is undated, hence the question. There's some good info and pictures/scematics in it! Could be for trade or sale. Cheers, Lex
  18. Nice one Rik! looks like a Dutch bicycle! Cheers, Lex
  19. Ok, I seem to be able to post again!! Here are my pictures of the gunclips, but looking at them, it will be very expensive to make them! need to make press fittings, so a batch of 20-30 or so would make it justifyable, but don't have the cash to start anything right now. Leatherwork is also elaborate. Rear one: So one might be better of buying the bike on Ebay! Cheers, Lex
  20. Hello Ronnie, Seems the engine is original to the frame, I make it: Model: MKI Frame: 800 Engine:XXE907 Census number on tanks: C4659270 Contract number: S789 Your Welbike was not on my register, but have several numbers quite close. I can check on your numbers if you send me some pictures of them: http://welbike@welbike.net Cheers, Lex
  21. Sorry Tim, it says trucks over 3,5 tonnes, so is your Scout registered as a truck? It's not getting any better! Lex
  22. OK, latest news I just heard, you have to apply to all 3 links for exemptions! ridiculous, but hey, I did not invent it! Cheers, Lex
  23. OK, just found another snippet of info, foreign owners of old vehicles can ask for exemption, but has to be done beforehand! As usual in Belgium, there's 3 different language zone's so 3 email addresses, how can a ****ed up country like that ever function?? and be the seat of the EU...... Flanders: http://belastingen.vlaanderen.be/formulier-niet-belastbaarheid-kilometerheffing Wallons: https://www.exemption.sofico.org/stark-exoneration/fr/ Brussels: http://fiscaliteit.brussels/kilometerheffing-voor-vrachtwagens-2016 Cheers, Lex
  24. As above, and this is also valid for oldtimer trucks from abroad, Belgium truck owners with an oldtimer registration are exempt. This is for all trucks above 3,5 tons, worst thing, you have to hire a special box, an OBU, on board unit, that is a sort of a GPS, that records and sends out where you're driving etc. this is coupled to your credit card, and automaticly charges for what mileage you're doing! (15-30 eurocents a kilometer), failing to do so get's you a 1000 euro fine! Not a good thing! don't think they'll have a 6volts version, as all modern trucks are 24 volts. Please check it out before traveling guys! here a link in English I could find, nothing about foreign oldtimer lorries though: http://www.viapass.be/en/about-viapass/viapass-for-hgvs/ Cheers, Lex
  25. OK, no probs, thought you knew I had some, will call about the Miller thing today again,. could not get hold of him yet. Cheers, Lex
