  1. I may have it, but going out of the door now, will check later, please remind me if I forget! Lex PS, I had it already on file! December 1943. (that's not what you wanted to hear I guess....)
  2. Ah, that would save me a load of hassle, if you can post the measurements here, that I can keep it on file for the future. Cheers, Lex
  3. Unfortunatly he's not good at inches, and on special request he did the drawing of the mag platform in inches and milimeters, no spindle drawings though, it's a quite elaborate afair, with a groove for the special washers, I sent you some NOS ones off, that make the "clicks" on the damper knob, also it has a hex on the end, for adjustment, not a square like so many other forks. All threads are BSC 26tpi. Lex
  4. Steve, I might have kept one for sample purposes, that I could measure, but last time I searched I didn't find it, did you ask the Norwegian, Arne if he has a drawing of it?? he made about 80-100 drawings over the years, of all sorts of Matchless parts, he only does email, I will see if I have anything though. Cheers, Lex 35-G3-E56 mag platform nut.pdf 35-G3-E280 35-G3-E277 dynamo clamp bolt.pdf 12221 Wheel nuts.pdf
  5. Steve, sorry, but I never researched this topic, I know, it's stupid, but I just use the right jet and throttle cut off and other stuff, and it works all the time.
  6. Ron, I had already said that above!! But so they are the wider "heavyweight ones, maybe from the Sunbeam bike ? Cheers, Lex
  7. I just got word that the Flea in the article still exists and the logbook for it was first issued to Arthur Bourne!!! Cheers, Lex
  8. No, the picture is real!! here the complete scans of the Blue un article. Lex
  9. Yes, now you mention it!! but it looks to me like they fitted a pair of Teledraulics on a prewar Squariel. here another picture of the same bike in some army trials. Have more pictures of this same bike, but not very clear, have to order the whole series I guess. Lex
  10. Here's the whole picture, but I will ask a friend if he can come up with a high res. scan. Lex
  11. Ok learned something again!! pictures should work now?? Lex
  12. 1939 G3WO's had a Lucas horn, but that is not the G3 we're talking about, it's the one with the split front downtube. Lex
  13. OK, could be, I tried to look it up on Simon's website, but he has taken the parts bit off altogether, so cannot compare all the parts lists real quick. But I'm not sure if the G3's had Lucas horns, does it state that in the P/L's? Later G3L's surely did have other types, I never said they didn't. Pictures of G3WO horns from 1940 Cheers, Lex
  14. There were never any brass petrol or oil caps. (period) Cheers, Lex
  15. Sorry to confuse the subject, but all G3WO's and early G3L's had the HF 180 Clearhooters, and the very early G3WO, had a different type, with the little screws on the front, forgot the type, but same as on my WD-C enfield. Cheers, Lex
  16. Haha, Ron, well you sell yours on the UK market, and I'll try on the continent! Cheers, Lex
  17. I can't answer any of the questions here, Ron is much better at that, but I do have a spare 3HW rear rack for sale if anyone needs it, it's rusty, but restorable as they say, can take pictures if needed. (if I can remember where it is now) Cheers, Lex
  18. Nice Steve, ofcourse we've already discussed it, and some parts are waiting for you here. Keep up the good work! Lex
  19. Nice one! I saw there was a postwar one on Ebay, it went for 72 pounds or so. Cheers, Lex
  20. Yes, I get your point, but that here is highly illegal, to stamp any numbers in a frame, or alter in any way, people with Willys jeeps and Harleys have a hard time, but it gets done I guess. Lex
  21. That's just incredible!!! and even quite current too! I know for a fact hundreds of Harley WLA's have the same "frame" number in Holland, as they never had a frame number, they took the casting number of the headstock, but that was just after the war. The Dutch DVLA (RDW) still have big problems when you turn up with one of these, and there's no number! Cheers, Lex
  22. Thanks Jan, for confirming my thoughts! Cheers, Lex
  23. I don't know, but there is a rivet, you'd have to grind it off, or drill it out from the inside, and find a blind rivet to replace it, or have a little bolt turned with a round flat head to replace it. Lex
