After a windy and wet start today,it has been really enjoyable, very good turn out of general vehicles and about 5 military , met up with a few friends had a good laugh. only downside a few of us thought was too many newer cars that people think are classics, and one of the organisers on the gate not recognising a split screen camper as old! ...:nut:

Greenway became the Officers Mess for the 10th US Patrol Boat Flotilla based in the Dart Estuary. Amongst them was a Lt Marshall Lee, who was to become their unofficial war artist, creating a frieze around the walls of the library. During the build-up to D-Day, American music could often be heard wafting over the estate. According to local rumour, an abrupt silence foretold another raid by the Luftwaffe!

went a long this morn, badly advertised on prom ( ended up doing a bit of marshalling!) not a massive turn out but was some good stuff there. My daughters fave happened to be olive drab and sporting a star !!(old habits i guess , not brain washed , honest :nut:!)

good luck in the future ,( i gave up 17 years of TVR to look after my kids , then became an ofsted registered childminder, then a nursery nurse .)Now work in the catering industry (A nice change !:nut:)
