Looks a rather well made item, in as much the finish of the knife and quality of the scabbard. Any marks at all on the blade or cross gaurd?

A good general illustrated guide book I have is 'Fighting Knives-Frederick J Stephens'

ISBN 0-85368-344-1... not sure if still in print.

Wow, the photo is so blurred it is only just possible to pick out the severe pitting on that 'Near mint example'.
