Once again thank you Robin...There are a few very bad wires we are replacing....Maple Leaf Up..I remember you telling me about that a while back...I'll check it out again...
Can someone please tell me under the light switchboard there are 2 wires marked BST and SOL..What are they for ? I have the User Handbook pg94 fig.37 it shows them in the diagram under the switch..
Pretty much...Just put on new brake hoses and got the brakes going....GSP restored ect..Now working on getting the lights working..I have it up on blocks wheels off...I couldn't go anywhere out of it's garage as there is about a foot of snow out....I hope to have it driving around the neighborhood in may...Slowly getting it working better....VERY cold here the past 3 months.
Can someone tell me please regarding a 1954 Ferret MK1 for the headlights is there a fuse or relay for them ? IF there is where is it located ? Do the headlights have all 24 volts going to them ?
Thank you for any responses,
Joe in USA
WOW Rob what a great project to recover for history....I have done a lot of work in underground mines and can truly appreciate the jack hammer/chisel work it takes....Would you mind posting a picture or two of a complete project? Great work..
The very best to you.....
Sorry to hear of your bad weather over there...A lot of us in the USA have snow and record cold problems....I hope everything settles down soon for everyone...
Several well known auto parts stores carry Penzoil sae non detergent 30 wt...Check the yellow pages for auto parts stores and give them a call...I found it at the local O'reillys auto parts store.
For the engine I use Penzoil sae30 wt (detergent)..On the back of the 1 quart container in fine print it will say something to the effect manufactured for older vehicles...My oil filter was the original diaper type which was like new..However I purchased a cartridge oil filter to put in the filter canister...I purchased my oil filter from www.Khakiimports.com
My Ferret is in the Chicago area...Anyone nearby with a Ferret please Private message me I would like to here from a fellow owner...
The very best to you...
Welcome from the USA..Visit Youtube a lot of interesting videos on there with Ferrets...The very best to you with your restoration.....Lots of great people on here that are willing to help a person out...
WOW that was tight.....I have cabin fever this winter real bad...Where I am at in the USA it has been really cold here the past couple of months....-25 F with wind chills today....It's nice to see people enjoying their armour...My Ferret MK1 is resting peacefully in a heated shop this winter while I work on it occasionally trying to get the gear box going...Thanks again for posting...
