  1. Just seen it. Much cleaner looking, but it still has that dodgy looking guy on it at the top left. Steve
  2. Entry Closing Date is MAY 7th - If anyone is interested, just a few days to go. Steve
  3. Quite miffed!! I was out so had to record it, but the DVD ran out of space after about 50 minutes! I was recording too many other things!! Steve
  4. Are you sure they're not just escaping over the border with the picture of the 'fallen madonna with the big boobies by Van Clump', or the 'cracked vase with the big daisy by Van Gough'?? Steve
  5. For those of us slightly slow on the technical side of things, what is transmission wind up? Steve
  6. I think most people are camping on or near Framlingham airfield. I'm sure there will be people with generators, but either way, I'll have a 12v to mains inverter with me if you need 240v for your laptop. I use it for my laptop, fridge transformer etc. Steve
  7. The guys from York are driving 200 miles to get there! I know it's downhill from York, so it's gotta be easy for you driving across! Steve
  8. Do we know whether the 'King of Beckettstan' is bringing his Jimmy yet?? :dunno: Steve
  9. I'm not sure of the exact times, but the touring starts early on Friday morning, and I'm guessing we're done late afternoon on Sunday, to give people time to pack up and go home again. I'm sure Clive has got the exact tour worked out by now so he should have a good idea when things will kick off and pack up. Steve
  10. I'll sort out the pics soon. The site they were linked from has now moved to a new host, so the links are now broken. Steve
  11. The pages have been quite slow to load for me too. Certainly compared to many of the other sites and forums I visit. What is the bandwidth on the new site host, and are we sharing with many others? Steve
  12. We spent the afternoon welding up holes in Georges Jeep! There were 20+ holes for accessories, hood blocks, additional lights etc, that George really didn't want. Fortunately the slight sign of rain passed, and we got it all done in 3 hours. It needs a little more rubbing down and some rust treating, then the paint can come out! Steve
  13. I never got dancing girls when I joined I feel cheated  Let me know which sub forum they are in. Steve
  14. R&R Services Sandy Lane, Great Chart Ashford Kent TN26 1JN Tel 01233 820219 Fax 01233 820494 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday -12 Noon Saturday
  15. George is a very trusting soul ( some might say naive!! ). I've only known him a few months, and yet he gave me several thousand pounds in notes to go and collect the jeep from Tim!!! ( Tim, don't let George know you sold it for £2000 and I kept the rest!!! :-D ) I didn't put much pressure on George, but if I hadn't 'leaned' on him, he would have only wasted the money on bills or decorating etc! Here's a picture of George just after getting the jeep, on its first run out. It is currently somewhat mottled after having several layers of paint rubbed down. http://www.sacarr.co.uk/mvtne/members/jeep_george/jeep_george1.jpg[/img] http://www.sacarr.co.uk/mvtne/members/jeep_george/george_jeepb.jpg[/img] Steve
  16. Hi John, Do you have any more, slightly larger pics ( about 700 pixels wide ) you could email me to add to the Gallery of the Yorkshire MVT website? Steve
  17. The additive works out much cheaper, with a mix of 20ml to each 6ltrs of fuel. It costs about £7.00 for 500ml Steve
  18. A single 150 gallon tank gave the P-47 a radius of action of 375 miles. Two on the P-47 gave it 550 miles. Two were carried on the P-38, just inboard of the engines, giving it a radius of action at 600 miles. The more common type was the tear drop 75 gallon tank made from steel, and the more parallel sided 108 gallon tank made from both steel and a paper/plastic composite. They were connected to the aircraft by a glass tube which would shatter as the tank was released. If you get hold of a copy of "The Mighty Eighth War Manual" by Roger A. Freeman, there is a section in more detail there. Steve
  19. The tanks were made in the US and UK, from Steel with a capacity of 150 or 165 Gallons. Steve
  20. Looks to me to be a 150 Gallon drop tank as used by P-38 Lightnings. Steve
  21. I just use a lead substitue by Morris. I think it's called Zero Lead 2000. Steve
  22. I checked out a few of the groups vehicles at the weekend and found a mix of hot and not gauges. I hope Mr A doesn't want any more kids, as his speedo is hot, and with a cracked glass, is even more dangerous as the paint dust could escape and be breathed in. I also know why Mr M with the Dodge is fairly bald! The other two jeeps are ok, and I havent checked the other vehicles yet! Steve
