Off the top of my head, I'm not sure as to the use. I'll look through my airfield architecture books and see if I can see anything similar. You could try contacting the RAF Museum at Hendon and see if they have a copy of the original airfield plan in their archives. These plans usually had all the buildings numbered, and a key down the side listing all these buildings and there 'intended' uses. Notice 'intended', because, sometimes the buildings weren't used for that which they were originally designed. Steve

For those interested in this kind of stuff, I'll be bringing some photo albums to Bolero with many pictures ( mostly aerial ) of many of the old 8th Air Force bases that I took back in 1997 and 1999. Steve

The North East area of the MVT are taking six vehicles ( myself included ) to the Ursel show in mid August. Three jeeps, three trucks. I was wondering if anyone else from the forum will be going? We'll be spending the week before in France, then most of the group will return home after the show. Lynne and I are going to Holland for a week after the show. Steve

Just finished painting a sign for the group, see attached. 8th AF badge one side and the 100th Bomb Group badge the other. No doubt a web address will follow in time. I should probably add a HMVF logo since we were brought together through this site! We're hoping we can get the vehicles together for some shows this year, but need to compare diary dates. Since I can trailer the jeep places, it will be easier to get the jeep to the West coast than getting the Dodge to the East, but that's not an excuse for Bodge not to travel! No doubt we'll be talking more at 'Bolero' shortly. Steve

I've had a look on the walkaround photos I took of my jeep but can't see any numbers. Next time the jeep is out, I'll have a closer look. Steve

While on the subject of aircraft, you'll need a selection or North American T-6 Texan trainers, painted olive drab with stars being Mustangs, and grey with crosses for any German aircraft. A mock up cockpit needs to be also made for pilot shots, but of a size more resembling a greenhouse than a cockpit. We also need a dummy to be thrown out of a plane for the pilot parachuting to safety. Anyone want to be the dummy??? Steve
