  1. I've just got in from work, but I'll add some vehicle pics shortly. Steve
  2. Here's some of the aircraft on display, both static and flying.
  3. We decided to pack up about 2pm as the predicted rain began. Got home ok, but came through some really heavy rain. I think we made the right choice to leave when we did. Despite leaving a bit early, it was a great weekend, and those within reasonable driving distance should certainly consider it for next year. We even had the Battle of Britain Memorial flight both days ( Lanc, Spit & Hurri on Sat, Spit on Sun ) Steve
  4. To start with, rather than the usual vehicle pictures, here's a few of vehicle art, names and markings.........
  5. I'm back from a great weekend at Elvington Airfield/Yorkshire Air Museum with the Yorkshire MVT. Tim and the rest of the guys must have prayed really hard, because Fridays rain cleared up to give a fairly bright weekend. I'll be posting pics of the event soon, but for now, here's a picture of Bodge Deep, Whistlinwolf and myself. Steve
  6. I've got the pictures covered, but I think Bodge should be the roving reporter!! Tim will be too busy trying to look useful over the weekend! I didn't see him doing anything useful last year, however, saying that, he did get me display space inside the hangar! Steve
  7. Quite a change, 'though I prefered it in red :-D Just trying to work out from the size, is the jeep parked beside or behind your truck? Can I hijack your thread just a little, and suggest we all add before and after pics of our vehicles? I find it very interesting seeing how our vehicles looked when first found. Steve
  8. I'm just about to pack the jeep for the trip to Elvington. Even though Tim said it would be sunny, I'm packing my rain coat and wellies!! Hope to see a few of you there. Bodge, you better turn up, you are too local not to visit!! ;-) Here's a few pics from last year. I'll post some new pics hopefully on Monday. http://www.wheelsandwings.co.uk/wheelswings/2lanc.jpg[/img] http://www.wheelsandwings.co.uk/wheelswings/antique/ant7.jpg[/img] http://www.wheelsandwings.co.uk/wheelswings/3ger3_kub.JPG[/img] http://www.wheelsandwings.co.uk/wheelswings/4jeeps.JPG[/img] Steve
  9. Jack, I think what you need to ask yourself is....... How often is an event like Bolero going to happen? This is probably a one off event. The airfields are vanishing at the hands of developers at an alarming rate. The chance to be part of something like it may not come around again. Just spend the money and get out and enjoy the weekend. Steve PS - The alternative is to drive there, then 'Break Down' just as you leave, and get your break down recovery to tow you home!! ;-)
  10. Just noticed it's a 100th Bomb Group, 351st BS vehicle; Excellent choice! Where does it live? Steve
  11. I like it! My next jeep will be a 'Follow Me' jeep. Steve
