  1. It just goes to show that with constant bullying, we can get Jack to do anything we want :-D Steve
  2. Here's a link direct to the Event page 'War on the Line' Weardale Railway Steve
  3. All seems ok to me!?? Just cleared my temp internet files, and went back to the pages and they all work fine. Steve
  4. Many of the vehicle owners, particularly those with Dodges, have also collected a fair amount of kit to display along with their vehicle. As a result, over the last year, dioramas make up a large part of the vehicle displays at many events. This was in addition to the many other dioramas also displaying at the event. Sunday saw a slight change in the vehicles on display, with one or two missing and others replacing them. Both days saw the re-enactment groups put on mock battles in an enclosure at one side of the field. I wouldn't like to think of the cost of the quantity of rounds that were fired, but the public enjoyed the display. Dark clouds began to roll in around 4:00pm, by which time most people were packing up and preparing to leave having had a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend. Further pictures can be found on the MVT(NE) Website Gallery Steve
  5. The Vampire and Canberra cockpits were popular as ever across the weekend, especially with the kids in attendance. The next station along the line was in the hands of the Germans. A few made the trip along to the main display at Stanhope Station.
  6. The venue and also scenery around the railway make a very attractive setting for the event. A poor weather forecast in the few days before the show threatened to spoil everything, but thankfully, the weathermen got it wrong, and the event saw mostly blue sky and plenty of sun. Several vehicles arrived on the Friday evening and set up camp. At about 5:00am on Saturday morning, the camp was surrounded by mist, but by breakfast the sun was out and it was warming up nicely.
  7. I'm about to head off to the Weardale Wartime weekend in the Jeep, now towing a fully laden trailer. This will no doubt increase my fuel consumption, so I'll be adding my 0.000000000000000000000000001% contribution of CO2. If it gets real hot over the weekend, thank me for your suntan! Steve

  9. Thanks. I'd still like to see anyone elses efforts??? I'm off to the Weardale Railway Wartime weekend in a couple of hours, so maybe I can get some new background shots while I'm there. Steve
  10. Instead of Big Brother, they should get 20 re-enactors and cram them into a 12 x 12 tent for several weeks and film them, they could call the show "Small Privates" ??? Steve
  11. Here's some other pics I did a couple of years ago. 1) Jeep, Me and B-17 - The B-17F is one of those used during the filming of Memphis Belle, and was taken in 1989 at Duxford, and is a scanned 6x4 print. The jeep and myself were digital taken in November 2005. 2) Mid-Air Collision - The troops, vehicles and background, ( including the smoke which came from a steam train ) were the original picture. The B-17's that have been involved in a collision were pasted in, and some red/yellow added to the smoke. 3) P-47 Ground Attack - Again the troops, jeep and background were the original picture, while the P-47's attacking were two pictures of my 1/6 scale R/C model. I'd like to see any other efforts made by others here. Steve PS I don't have photoshop. All my editings are made with an ancient version of Ulead Photo Express which dates from around 1990!!
  12. The plane IS actually a model!! a 17 feet span Radio Controlled version. Steve
  13. Here's the results so far, background detuned etc
  14. I'm in the middle of cutting out all the foreground and defocussing the background, to shorten the depth of field. It's quite difficult to make a fake photo, there are some many factors that can give it away. Steve
  15. I'll have a play around and see what I can come up with. Steve
  16. WW2 colour pictures were often over exposed giving washed out colours and usually red sensitive, turning olive drab to a browner shade. The focus of older images also seems to not always be pin sharp, which I'm guessing was mostly down to the camera operators, as there are many very sharp WW2 images. One particular picture that springs to mind is a black and white image of a B-17 on a test flight in the USA. The camera settings, light level, angle of light etc must all have been just right as you can pick out every rivet on the plane which must be flying about 150 to 200 feet from the camera plane. Steve
  17. Had a quiet day at work ( ie no appointments today ) so had a bit of a play around with my photo editing program on the attached pictures. The picture is my Jeep and my B-17 taken two years apart, at opposite ends of the country. The first is the simple colour images edited together, Second is Sepia with the focus softened, Third is softened Black and White, Fourth is colour, but altered to try and resemble a WW2 colour image. Which image do you prefer? EDIT - Images lost during forum crash Steve
  18. Just a reminder to anyone in the NE/Co Durham area this weekend, that the MVT(NE) and Weardale Railway are holding the first Wartime Weekend Event at Stanhope Station. If anyone is in the area, please come along and say hello. It's only about 15 miles West of Durham City. Multimap Link Steve
  19. Got any close up pics of the jeep? Steve
  20. I think we have more members vehicles than months in the year. Perhaps a few group shots should be included?? Steve
  21. I think you must have been drinking when you added the pictures, they aren't all in the right place! :-o Are we working you too hard?
  22. I think you'd burn more warming it up than you ever would driving your Jimmy as it is! :-D
  23. If you can't afford to drive the Jimmy to Bolero, there's no way you can afford to run a 27 litre V12!!!!! Steve
  24. This particular Merlin is attached to the Shuttleworth Collection Spitfire MkVc Steve
