Lwt Big Cheese
I didn't know about the chequered bit! I relise that ignorance is no defence, but how is one suppossed to keep up!
AlienFTM
Can you imagine Met Police armed response teams having to be trained to use the Boys rifle ? I'd like to see a film of them learning to cock the PIAT ! I was thinking about this yesterday. What might the police use against it as a measured response. I decided that the ricochet threat would certainly preclude them from firing anything at it. However I also read on another forum reminiscing about Northern Ireland how (IIRC) a Pig commander never got upset when he saw locals preparing to throw marbles at his Pig because he knew the sound would keep his patrol alert. Tony B
Bit of an aside, but you want a hilarious pice about Sarecens in riot control, and dealing with them. Read Tom Sharpe's Riotus Assembly. :-D
Snapper
That's right. I vaguely remember. Very funny books. All that novocain and stuffed swans. Yikes. M
Snapper
What variant of Saracen is it?
sirhc
It's not up-armoured and there's a Bren ring on the back, so I'd say it's a Mk 1. I'd need to check to be sure.
Starfire
I know that it's digging up a dead thread, but the 3 door turret confirms that the vehicle is a Mk 1, a 2 door turret would make it a Mk 2. Cheers, Terry
