ltshaffer Posted February 19, 2009 Share Posted February 19, 2009 To all experts out there, I bought a 1943 willys MB jeep with the chassis # 7684397 and the engine # 639660C but not absoultely correct as it's hard to read but i have been told that the important thing is the chassis # the data plate is blank as well. My question is could anyone tell me what the correct hood # should be ? and secondly how to find out the date of delivery to write it in on the plate. thanking you all in advance. cripp Posted February 19, 2009 Share Posted February 19, 2009 The chassis number is too high. Can you post a picture of it. Where are you getting the engine number from? It should be stamped on the block behind the oil filter. The number you posted sounds like a head casting number. As said above G503 is the best place.
