Panzer IV Hulks Sold?

Not long ago I saw some photos of a number (6 or 7 Pz IV) hulks that had just been removed from their fixed positions on the Turkish border in Bulgaria. Some looked OK but the majority were only hulls with turrets, everything else having been stripped out many years ago when they were burried as gun emplacements. The rumers with the photos said that they were to be auctioned this year or in 2009.... Any news?

When I first saw them I thought they were too far gone to be the bases of a viable project, having seen the M4A4 on this site I am now not so sure....

What I know, somebody told it, that the starting price was high and only a few was sold.

I have heard that at least one (possibly more) is coming to the UK, to join the Sdkfz foundation.

Sorry, i dont know. They had been so robbed that restoration would be incredibly expensive. there was however one real rarity there and that was the JagdPazer IV. That is the one that i think is coming to the UK.

Looks more complete than some of the other relics. Clearly a viable project...
