Stalwart combined oil/fuel level guage

OK - IMBSB - the combined oil & fuel gauge on a Stalwart. Anyone think of a reason why (other than two shorted senders which I'm assured is not the case) this gauge should swing over to full deflection when the isolator is turned on???

Pressing the button that switches over to the oil level reading makes no difference and the cicuit diagram for this is a bit complex to say the least....

Could be the voltage stabilizer for the gauges (if it has one) :confused:

No idea to be honest Lee - will have to look at the spaghetti layout that passes for a wiring diagram.

Temp and oil pressure gauges - both I believe electric - are working OK though as is the hour meter and rev counter.......

I'd suspect a bad earth somewhere.

Especially seeing as it's been stood for some time I believe.

Could be - it was working the last progress visit before we tried the first collection run then stopped. When we get here back we'll have a look where the earth points are for the system.

Pound to a penny says they will be in the most inaccessible spot in the vehicle!
