Joris
On September J.O.E. Vanderleur and his Irish Guards captures a bridge across the Meuse-Escaut canal near Lommel in Belgium. This is only a few km from the Dutch border and will be the starting point of operation Market Garden. The bridge was subsequently known as Joes Bridge. This is how it looked in 1944: And a now shot of where the bridge was in 1944: Some more shots of the bridge:

Joris
The bridge has indeed been moved, this allowed them to bypass the old -too small- road. You can see it very clearly on Google Maps: http://maps.google.com/maps?=q&hl=nl&geocode=&q=neerpelt&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=52.550571,67.675781&ie=UTF8&ll=51.230578,5.483809&spn=0.010252,0.016522&z=
