Jack
Just got from the airfield and went down tonight seeing as part of the drop left from here 64 years ago tonight. So following on from last night here are some pictures. It is a special place to be and we didn't see a soul and wanted to be there. The extremes of last night and 64 years ago is massive. Last night there was no one there apart from a farmer cutting hay on the airfield. Would had a minutes silence stood on the viewing platform of the control tower and we laid some poppy cross's on the airfield, control tower then down to the sentry box memorial. Another special moment yesterday was that I had communications with Don Burgett in the morning and was a 101st trooper who left from Upottery at 23:15 yesterday....64 years ago. I like life. This is the runway that they left from.
