Can't Identify part from a Nato Stock Number - can anyone help please?

Question

Hello all,

Can anyone identify which vehicle / equipment these brake linings fit? NSN 2530-99-825-6561 also SP 1630/1 on the labelling. They are a Girling product and are shown as discontinued without replacement from January 2023 on the NSN lookup site. Packing dates vary from 1976 to 1986 if that helps. Any help greatly appreciated.

Instinctively makes me think of Land Rover as they used Girling, but random look ups in ISPLs has a few near misses but no direct match. Looking on a 1999 database the NSN was deleted back then.

It looks like your box is of low value as they are priced at £3 +VAT from John Richards Surplus who seems to specialise in Land Rover parts.

Thanks fv1609,

I asked John Richards Surplus what vehicle the linings fitted but they too didn't know, hence their low selling price.

I'm assuming the NSN number must be listed in a parts manual somewhere and the Girling SP 1630/1 number must be listed in a Girling catalogue somewhere.....
