Enigma Posted October 25, 2007 Share Posted October 25, 2007 Today (and tomorrow) we attend the commemorations of the oct 1944 Liberation of 's-Hertogenbosch. Theyy are of the 53RD Welsh division. Also some other veterans present who didn't fight for the city. One of them was on the merchant-shipping route to Moermansk / Archangelsk. Also some Dutch Korea veterans and some whou fought in the Dutch Indies late 40's. My brother, his kids and our mom were present today. Some of the veterans are close friends. Unfortunately "grandpa Bob and grandma Lilly" couldn't make it. Lilly was sick. Still we had a lovely time meeting them and going to 2 monuments. The visit at the cemetary was impressive as always, also because one of the veterans and friend couldnt come over. I'll show some photo's of the veterans we met. First Tom Kelley, Ox and Bucks. ashley Posted October 28, 2007 Share Posted October 28, 2007 Nice one Enigma, i find it a bit embarrassing at times that a lot of other nations other than ourselves can celebrate the brave deeds of these men /women and their comrades including those that made the supreme sacrifice.
