mattemmett
Hi all. I picked up this airborne trailer this week. It’s missing the data plate, so I started removing paint to see if I could find its X number but I found what appears to be 533RN painted on both front lower sections. I’m assuming Royal Navy, but on an airborne trailer?? Any ideas? Thanks. Matt
10FM68
Post-war registration number for an RN-owned trailer. May well have been issued to an RM commando. Many RM vehicles had RN registrations. In fact, I think I have seen a picture in a book somewhere of a similar trailer being towed behind a Series 1 Land Rover with RN markings. 10 68
mattemmett
Oh ok, thanks. I’ll carry on trying to find its X number although I’m not too hopeful somehow.
OzH
I saw this briefly come up on ebay, if I hadn't just picked up my mortar trailer I would have snapped it up! Looks to be in reasonable condition and if I remember correctly, the tail end/board had been cut to make it open, but it was with it.. Nice trailer..
