Be very careful of tyres of this age with cracks in them, the last thing you want is for one of these tyres to break down when you are driving 3tons of amour around. HotelJuliet Posted August 8, 2016 Author Share Posted August 8, 2016 Having taken a closer look at my new (but old stock) tyres, I can see signs of cracking on two of them - see photo. Is this something to worry about? Are these tyres already shot? I'm not one for driving fast or over rough terrain, but as you say, these tyres still have to support a hefty weight even standing still. I notice from a much earlier thread and seeing other Ferrets that there are alternatives available, but nobody seems convinced they're good enough. Again, authentic is good, but safety is better - if alternatives are safer. I'd welcome other owners' thoughts (and I suppose the same applies to other ageing vehicles, not just Ferrets).
