Aussie_Drifter
G'day, My name is John and I live in Canberra, Australia. I was shown this site last Saturday night by a mate who has been following a Thornycroft build and was fascinated by the amount of data and information on the site. My military interests - well, father was in the military his whole working life. I became familiar with some of the vehicles and developed an unhealthy interest in Land Rovers; an interest that led me to owning several of them over the years. In the last few years my Land Rover club has had a few members join who own ex-military Landies. Some are older ex-Vietnam vehicles and the others are more recent varieties as the government here sells off its Land Rover fleet. Even more recently I have been assisting my neighbour as he has been preparing his ex Vietnam shorty for the required roadworthy prior to registration. Being in Canberra, you are well placed to visit the largest gathering of ex-military vehicles in your country, over at Corowa in March. I am involved with the organising group, here is their website, www.corowaswim-in.org There are a lot of Land Rover owners who participate, anything from a Series 1 to the Perentie 6x6 models. If you friends is a Vietnam veteran Landie, then get him to bring it to the show. best regards, Richard
