Introduction from sunny Newcastle Upon Tyne!

Recommended Posts

Good evening everybody, thank you for allowing me to join the forum. My name is Derek and I have been interested in military vehicles and weapons all my life. Grew up watching all the classic war movies and still do watch them - my wife cannot understand how I have watched "The Bridge at Remagen" about 15 times or why I must watch "The Great Escape" again to see if Steve McQueen will make it over the fence this time!! Airfix soldiers and kits were a main stay of my child hood before moving on to Tamiya (why the heck have they never made a 1/35 scale Land Rover 90 or 110????). I sold a lot of my built models on ebay about 15 years ago and then bought a Greyhound and a GMC truck to build - they're still in their boxes!!

Don't own a military vehicle although have half shares in a tracked vehicle we use at work which is great fun. If my lottery numbers ever come up I would have quite a collection though. Will try and post some pictures from the Yorkshire Wartime Experience which I really enjoyed.

Cheers for now.
