Buying a "live" piece of equipment tank etc questions

CRSCRS

Question

Hello all, how do you guys go on when owning a "live" (not deac) piece of equipment be it a towed gun or tank etc ?

Are there specific rules / regulations regarding these or are they covered by your shotgun / firearms licence ? Just wondering as obviously the size (barrel diameter/bore) is a lot greater.

Thanks in advance

Chris.

A friend of mine has his 3 live tanks on his fire arms certificate without any problems.

Although firearms legislation and law is pretty much laid out in black and white, Unfortunately it is interpreted very different between County firearms licensing departments ,in short depending on which county you live will depend on what you are allowed to keep on a section one Firearms certificate.

Im sure other forum users will know what I am on about and where the not spots are !

Clearly staying inside the law is a good thing - probably wise to get something from your local police in writing - as you may wish to move the kit between counties for shows and so on. It may also be worth checking the law on resale of these items - ie does the recipient need the appropriate licencing, are there any export controls, do the local police need to be notified (and the purchaser's local police). It will be worth ensuring that if there is any aux weapon on it -eg WOMBAT spotting rifle, LAW spotting rifle, coax weapons on armour etc that these are also covered under the certificate. PS - I am no expert...
