Edward53
I just won this for a very acceptable £35 all in. There's no FFD pocket, it's in nice lightly-used condition and there is a superior-quality, sateeny feel to the fabric. Maker is James Smith of Derby, size is 170/96, studs and zip are Newey. The inside of the DPM is white, but what's odd about the colour scheme is that what would normally be tan is in fact very light green - the photo showing the label gives a pretty good idea of this. I really like this smock and suspect it's quite an early one. Any thoughts? Edited January 27, 2015 by Edward53
Enfield1940
Very nice. I have a similar one made by H.E Textiles. Made circa 1981-84 I believe.
wdbikemad
I would agree...early 1980s...........Newey studs still in use then, no FFD pocket and cotton- zip-tape..............plus JS & Co still going back then, but not for much longer..........:-(
Enfield1940
James Smith & Co ceased trading in 1987. I have a 1984 type Para Smock made by them with German Prym snaps.
