She was up at Dallas', although owned by a 3rd party who I happened to know. Delivery date is 12/51 and the orginal US number is on the bonnet, sorry, hood:). Enigma
A M38 was our first MV. Loved it but haven't got it anymore. Ours turned out to have a cracked engine so it was replaced. The engine had a tiny crack from a watercooling tube/tunnel thing between 2 cilinders. Still have the engine tucked away somewhere. Billruston
I quite like the m38 looks quite like a wartime jeep!
fayjo56
I haven't done a great deal yet - got the MVT verification inspection tomorrow then will get cracking on her. I have really fallen for the look of the M38, and the Korean war era is a period I hadnt really read about before.
Billruston
I've seen some very good documentirys about the Koreon war, I never realised how involved it all was.
fayjo56
The strip down has begun. The starter has been changed for a 12v unit (M38s were 24V) and an alternator fitted. The rest of the electrics are well past their best and will have to be renewed. I am working towards removing the body. So far most bolts have undone quite easily. fayjo56
Work is progressing at a slow but steady pace. I picked up some odds and ends at the Dallas digout, including various seals and gaskets. Chassis and engine clean up continues.

Enigma
That body doesn't look to be rusty. It will be a beauty I'm sure.
fayjo56
That body doesn't look to be rusty. It will be a beauty I'm sure. The body is in remarkable condition, albeit a bit dented here and there.
fayjo56
I've got a bit lapse with piccys lately, the body is back on and has had some paint - more to go on though. Endless odds and ends done, but the list doesnt seem to be getting much shorter!

SteveJ
Very nice looking M38. You have really brought it along. Now just a winch unit and an M100 trailer to go with.
mark4974
Well done on a great restoration. Nice to know another M38 is back on the road in the UK. Other than mine I only know of two others, both up north near me but one has been restored to look like a WW2 jeep. I'll look out for you at shows.
