Rlangham
The weekend just gone saw a ww2 weekend at Chiltern Open Air Museum, as a training event for the main event at COAM in May. I was there with my re-enactment group the Tommy Atkins Society, who portray the 1st Battalion Leicestershire Regiment in NW Europe 1943-45. Here's a few pics as a bit of a taster for the main event http://img105.imageshack.us/img105/7043/tabn7.jpg[/img] Our display http://img105.imageshack.us/img105/8718/carriermd3.jpg[/img] Universal Carrier mk 2 http://img105.imageshack.us/img105/6539/daimlervk1.jpg[/img] Daimler Armoured Car Mk 1 http://img105.imageshack.us/img105/402/damedu9.jpg[/img] Turret art on the Daimler http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/770/dingoja4.jpg[/img] Daimler Dingo Scout Car http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/5331/firefh4.jpg[/img] Keeping warm at night
martylee
Really nice! are you sure those pics weren't taken in 1940-45??? Very nice turret art, not too fancy. I guess that makes it most realistic. I don't mind it if you post any more photos! Not at all! hint-hint. Marty
Larry Hayward
Its good to see the Daimler A/C will be there. I've been going to MV & re-enactment shows for nearly 30 years and every time I go I see a vehicle I have never seen before. Lets hope the weather holds out and event more of the paying public turn up. http://www.coam.org.uk/coamhome.htm
Joris
Great pictures, if the real thing is just as good as the training people will be in for a surprise!
Enigma
43rd Recce!!!!! I know a WW2 43 rd Recce via the internet. Nearby at a Fort in 1944 a group of them were ambushed and they lost 4 men dead and most of the rest captured. 2 of the deceased of them are still missing....presumably at the Fort. We are trying to get the authorities to do a search but not much luck yet. We even have the British defense Attache at the ambassy on our side.... http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a264/T214/FortStAndries26-10-2006002Medium.jpg[/img]
