Locolines Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Hi, can anyone give me any info on this set of cast iron wheels and axles ? purchased from a local craft centre. the only clue is 442 cast into the wheels Quote
0 wally dugan Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 WHATS the distance between the wheels it look like the front set of a four wheeled trolley like the ones used years ago on railway stations for luggage Quote
0 Locolines Posted August 15, 2013 Author Posted August 15, 2013 It's about 4 feet, but seem too heavy duty to be the railway ones, although I maybe wrong Quote
0 Willyslancs Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 we have some similar , very heavy ours were railway .......... Quote
0 wally dugan Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 THE reason l asked is we found several four wheeled trolleys when we moved in to the museum they were marked LNER and had been used in the tannery for moving hides on l think trolleys like this were used by many companies including farmers were l grew up to take milk churns to the road side Quote
