Jack
Haven't seen it mentioned here but did you guys see this bit of news yesterday? http://www.warhistoryonline.com/war-articles/spitfire-hunter-insists-iconic-planes-are-buried-in-burma.html
timbo
Jack Im not sure this tells us anything we didnt already know does it? I have the utmost respect for the guys commitment to his dream but for a long time it has felt increasingly like a shaggy dog story. From Wargaming's perspective they have spent a lot of money so this lecture business just gives them a bit more publicity which is what it is all about for them, whether the spits actually exist or not...(now watch them get found next week! ) Cheers Timbo
Jack
There must be some major politics going on behind the scenes with regards to Wargaming. They soon jumped in when the media interest built up and they must have been convinced with the evidence given to them that there was a good chance of finding them. I don't like the way this looks - Wargaming are holding a lecture on why they are NOT there. It sounds to me like major face saving and a smear campaign. They did not throw money and backing into this lightly. A more interesting lecture would be on WHY they back it.
