hummermark
Hello, Could someone post some pictures of what an original rack/carrier looks like for a wartime military Matchless G3L? As I am looking for one but have come across three different styles of rack! This seems to be the most likely but I cannot find a good close up picture of an original! If any Matchless owner/expert could share their knowledge it'd be much appreciated. Thanks, Mark
Ron
That's nothing like it Mark. Here is an original picture. Plus my bike, which is correct but not easy to see with the panniers fitted. I have contact details of a guy who makes good repros. Ron
wdbikemad
The original G3/L rack was adapted from the G3 version with the legs altered and re-welded to accommodate the pillion seat....when introduced, pannier fittings were not then standard.........later racks simply had the pannier frame top attachment lugs welded onto the rack-sides..........
