mazungumagic
I think I've found most of the problems - have a look at the blog - http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?28539-The-Restoration-of-Austin-Champ-1824 There are two main issues - rust and a lack of preventative maintenance. Unless you're exceedingly lucky, I don't think anything you will buy these days will be free of at least one of those and the odds are you'll have both to deal with. cossy1
HI to all I am thinking of buying a austin champ, any problems with them?,i have heard of rear axle problems. Any info for and against would be great. Thank you, ROB. Hi Rob just like you I have a Ferret Mk 2/3 1959 and have bought a Champ this year and the most important thing that I have learnt was to make sure all the parts come with the vehicle if you are thinking buying one that is in bits. (Took the seller at face value). The Austin champ owners club are a great source of friendly advice. Ps great choice love my champ nearly complete with the help of Dave Lock and the fitters in my Reme section. Regards Tony
