pop larkin
Looking over my Chassis and axles the other day I realised that it is going to be a right ba***rd trying to to clean the axles and suspension components thouroughly before painting. I have access to a shot blaster, but don't know what I should do about protecting the bits I don't want blasted (the cab and engine mainly). Also what about things like brake pipes, will they be affected? Anything else I should consider before blasting the crap out of it?
sirhc
We blast delicate parts all the time where I work, at a coatings company. As long as you use good strong masking tape (not B&Q rubbish) and put several layers on delicate parts you should be ok. Chria
john fox
for fiddly bits on chassis etc I cover in grease applied by a paintbrush over the top of the masking tape Bit belt and braces and of course de greasing is extra work afterwards but I prefer the added comfort of 2 layers of defence from grot where ya didna want it
