Two more unusual spanners

rustyaustinchamp

Question

OK, warming to a theme now, I had a dig through my toolbox today and came up with two more oddities.

The top one in the photo says on the side: British Britool Made For Vauxhall Bedford Vehicles. The other side 4109 9/16 AF

The bottom one Made in Britool England on one side, the other 50 AF 1/2 4505 56 AF 9/16.

The unusual design of them, I wonder if anyone can shed any light on why they are so shaped or what vehicle the first spanner was intended for?

Thanks

Martin

Thanks to all who replied on this and the previous thread. Gerry: as your number is the same, there is probably a list out there of ref numbers identifying all Britool spanners, this is something like '4205 spanner, tappet, adjusting'.

(Steve, I was half thinking it might be an MW spanner, its currently getting plenty of use on my Champ, no doubt about that)

Thanks again

Martin
