General Duties
Hi all, Time to introduce myself. My name is Chris and I'm retired and living in Norfolk U.K. I'm mainly interested in old motorcycles and have 6 mostly British machines dating from 1936 to 196o. As far as military connections go, I have a 1964 Triumph TRW and my latest acquisition....a 1936 German moped made in Chemnitz by Presto. It has 98cc Sachs engine and is almost 100% complete. If the numberplate is correct it was used by the Wehrmacht in Konigsberg in WW2. I understand they were also used by the Hitler Youth as messenger bikes particularly on airfields. A unit insignia has been found on the tank comprising a shield with an upward winged lightning bolt.Signals? Luftwaffe? Perhaps a forum member has knowledge of such a symbol...............
