Hello from Norfolk

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Time to introduce myself. My name is Chris and I'm retired and living in Norfolk U.K.

I'm mainly interested in old motorcycles and have 6 mostly British machines dating from 1936 to 196o.

As far as military connections go, I have a 1964 Triumph TRW and my latest acquisition....a 1936 German moped made in Chemnitz by Presto. It has 98cc Sachs engine and is almost 100% complete. If the numberplate is correct it was used by the Wehrmacht in Konigsberg in WW2.

I understand they were also used by the Hitler Youth as messenger bikes particularly on airfields.

A unit insignia has been found on the tank comprising a shield with an upward winged lightning bolt.Signals? Luftwaffe?

Perhaps a forum member has knowledge of such a symbol...............

Chris
