Rick W
Few questions regarding registering the jeep with DVLA. On the guide they give you to fill in the V55/5 a lot of the sections tell you to take the vehicle information from the Certificate of Conformity or SVA/IVA/MSVA certificate. I know what an SVA is, but it doesnt need one as its got chassis number and MVT verification. What is a certificate of conformity and do I need to fill those boxes in? Gordon_M
C of C is an EC thing and isn't appropriate for something made in the 1940s - basically every modern ( '80s or '90s onwards ) vehicle has type approval and EC compliance certification, which a jeep basically - won't. Gordon_M
No problem. The phrase to use is 'legacy compliance' - basically the vehicle was in use at the time the CoC regulations were originated. That phrase can, and should, be used where testing for things like brake efficiencies, transmission handbrake, lighting systems, etc. G
