Land Rover Jack

Hi, recently got my first Land Rover Series 3 109, but it did not have a jack with it. Can anyone tell me where I can get my hands on one and how much it will cost?

Do you have any details of make and model of the correct jack? I have one which came with some Series 3 parts and I think it's the original LR jack. If it is it's yours for £10.

Hi Jelly, I wouldn't bother with the correct jack if I was you, they were a really awful screw type, very unstable and broke very easily, much better to invest in a Hi Lift type jack, Genuine 4ft Hi Lifts are available from around £40- 45, there are also cheaper copies available, have a look in any of the Land Rover mags.

Or if you didn't fancy something big like a farm jack, go for a 2 ton bottle jack with a piece of scaffolding board to stop it sinking in the mud or soft tarmac.

You can pick them up in halfords for peanuts.

 

I wouldn't bother with the original land rover jack, they can be a pain to use if you don't have the correct handle.

I agree 100%,

on my Rover 8 the screw jack is kept only for display purposes. In the event of a flat tyre I'd use the bottle jack.

I don't agree with the use of hi-lifts however because they can drop the car in a very spectacular and dangerous way....
