I have noticed that there are several models of M16 elbow telescope, which would be the correct one for a WWII 105mm M2A1 Howitzer ? Any pics of the correct one would be great so I know what to look for.

The M2A1 carriage (yours) has an M16A1D and the M4 mount (M7 Priest) uses an M16A1C.

 

The difference is the graticule, externally they are identical.

 

This info comes from a 1948 TM so may be a bit post war!

That's not too bad as my 105 is dated 1944, would you have any hints on where to get the bubbles for the mounts...

Builders spirit levels,find the old type with the clear liquid NOT florecent.And carefully take the capsules out,push them into the brass housings on your gun..............Job done ! ;)
