antifreeze

I will change the antifreeze on the Jeep this weekend. I have got a new container of blue star, but it has been sitting on the shelf for the last two years. As it says change the anti freeze every two years is it past its shelf life, or does the two years only apply to the stuff once it is in the system?

Thanks

Tim

Im guessing yes as is blue, And reckons safe for pre 1998 vehicles

Quote from their website below

[h=2]HALFORDS ANTIFREEZE & COOLANT CONCENTRATE[/h]The Halfords Anti Freeze & Coolant Concentrate is a clear blue liquid, which is suitable for most vehicles manufactured before 1998, using standard (not OAT or silicate free) technology (always refer to your vehicles handbook if in any doubt).

It conforms to BS6580:1992 and has a temperature range of +108C to -34C, suitable for use all year round and has a 2 year life.

[h=2]FEATURES & BENEFITS OF HALFORDS ANTIFREEZE[/h]

  • 2 Year Life
  • Suitable for all year round - anti freeze / coolant
  • Temperature range from +108C / -34C
  • Silicate (IAT) based Standard technology
  • Maximum concentration = 50% water / 50% anti freeze
