Rover8FFR
Does anyone know where I could get some parts re-galvanised. I live in Herefordshire. Also I know that you can buy cold applied treatments in aerosol but do they work??
protruck
Hi Wayne. I've used cold Galv spray in tins before and had some good results. Clive ................................ protruckservices.com
Rover8FFR
Clive can you remember the make? Some appear to be better than others regarding longevity! Also did they resemble galv finish or just look live a silver paint? Regards

rog8811
For many years I used galvafroid as a cold galvanized undercoat, never had a problem with it, though they didn't do it in spray cans way back then:embarrassed:. More recently I hand painted it onto the metal gate at work, still looks tidy and rust free three years later without any top coat. http://www.dstgroup.co.uk/index/products/view_products/139/ Regards rog8811

I guess I am looking to see how the finish is left bare compared to hot dipped galv finish. Thanks in advance. :-)
rog8811
Is it possible to see how your gates look The best I can do is the following from google earth as I cannot find any others that have been taken. It just leaves a matt grey finish which polishes slightly with handling. If you are desperate I will try to make sure I have a camera with me when I unlock next time I am there. Regards rog8811 That looks quite impressive for a cold applied Galv paint finish. And you say they have been in-situ with just that coating for a while. Could be a good solution to small Galv parts that are predominently under cover or semi-exposed. Especially using your gates as an example! Thank you for the piccy. Much appreciated. rog8811
And you say they have been in-situ with just that coating for a while. It is at least 3 years and may be more.... I never quite got round to the coat of 5 bar gate green Regards rog8811
