pigdog
Since I have my maifolds off I'm trying to check the exhaust tappet gaps. Does anyone have a pic of the flywheel timing mark? Mine is hard to read thru all the flaking paint. When it says TDC what cylinder is it for? #1 or 6? My ferret is missing the timing pointer bolt. Can a timing light be used? Sure was a pain jumping in and out rotating the engine and looking for the mark. Trying to look in a mirror and get at the tappets is quite difficult. I still dont see a gap. Very confused -Chris Ferret 00 EC

Simply remove one of the side escape hatches to view your timing marks. a LOT easier! Mike. :-D
john fox
I haven't got my notes to hand but I think the only data I have seen is 2 degrees ATDC and that is for static timing only using No1 plug, I don't think there are any figures for dynamic timing
pigdog
Thanks for the pic link. Mine had some marks for "early timing" also. So the TDC is for #1 cylinder? Then how do you find TDC for #2,3,4,5? Then #6 would be a full 360 turn? -Chris
