Ferret timing mark

Since I have my maifolds off I'm trying to check the exhaust tappet gaps. Does anyone have a pic of the flywheel timing mark? Mine is hard to read thru all the flaking paint. When it says TDC what cylinder is it for? #1 or 6? My ferret is missing the timing pointer bolt. Can a timing light be used? Sure was a pain jumping in and out rotating the engine and looking for the mark. Trying to look in a mirror and get at the tappets is quite difficult. I still dont see a gap.

Very confused

Chris, A small but usefull tip.

To save time & energy climbing in & out of the vehicle. Simply remove one of the side escape hatches to view your timing marks. a LOT easier!

Mike. :-D
