Sherman tracks- a question.

A question I've been asked and I can't give a definate answer.

 

I've seen several shermans running with rubber track pads on this forum and have also seen a lot of war time tanks with the metal pads on is this a easy swap over?

It's easy enough to swap tracks but the rubber pads are integral to the track so you cannot swap pads over like on a 432.

 

There is steel track and there is rubber track. The links are integral in both cases and have no replaceable wearing surface.
